Direct answer

In one sentence

SMK Labs is a paid AI development partner that works in person and remotely across South Korea, including Busan, connecting RAG, workflow automation, AI agents, API and data integrations, OCR and document processing, and ongoing operations through an FDE approach.

The service does not imply a resident office in Busan. Visit dates and locations are agreed around each project's scope.

Service scope

Beyond adding a model: build the working process

We identify where work stalls, connect the required data and systems, and implement an operating path that people can actually use.

  1. S-01

    RAG · Knowledge search

Turn internal documents and working knowledge into answers that can be searched and cited.

  2. S-02

    Workflow automation

Convert repetitive input, classification, summaries, and reporting into reviewable automation.

  3. S-03

    AI agents

Design agents that call tools and complete steps with permissions and failure handling built in.

  4. S-04

    API · Data integration

Connect existing services, databases, and external APIs into a dependable input-to-result flow.

  5. S-05

    OCR · Document processing

Extract, classify, review, and store the information that matters from images and documents.

  6. S-06

    Operations · Maintenance

Continue deployment, observability, incident response, quality checks, and improvements within the agreed scope.

Delivery trace

From problem to operations, the sequence defines accountability

Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) is not a list of technologies. It stays close to the working problem and connects definition, build, validation, and operations.

  1. 01 / 05

    Define the problem

Map the current workflow, bottleneck, users, constraints, and success criteria—including what should not be built.

  2. 02 / 05

    Connect the data

Review available documents, APIs, databases, and access, then design for quality and security constraints.

  3. 03 / 05

    Build

Combine models, applications, automation, and integrations into a workflow that a real user can complete.

  4. 04 / 05

    Validate

Test not only correct outputs but wrong answers, missing data, permission errors, cost, and latency.

  5. 05 / 05

    Operate

Agree deployment, observability, operating notes, handover, and maintenance so the system remains usable.

Coverage

Nationwide, including Busan

We visit when field context matters and work remotely when speed and iteration matter. Both can be combined for the project.

  • Nationwide visits by arrangement, including Busan
  • Remote meetings, development, and operations across South Korea

Inquiry & quote

Response target and quote criteria, stated upfront

Inquiry response

We aim to acknowledge receipt and share the next questions within two business days. This is not a guarantee that a quote or project start will be completed in that time.

Quote

After reviewing scope, data, integrations, security, and operating conditions, the proposal separates scope, schedule, fees, exclusions, acceptance criteria, and maintenance.

Deliverables

Deliverables are as explicit as the agreed scope

These are possible examples. The actual items and formats are confirmed in the proposal and agreement.

  • Requirements · Acceptance criteria
  • Architecture · Data flow
  • Source code · Configuration
  • Tests · Validation results
  • Deployment · Operations runbook
  • Handover · Maintenance scope

FAQ

Questions before an AI development inquiry

Q01Is SMK Labs accepting paid AI development projects?

Yes. SMK Labs is currently accepting paid AI development inquiries. We review the request and share the next questions and steps.

Q02Can SMK Labs visit for an AI project in Busan?

Yes. In-person work is available nationwide, including Busan, alongside remote collaboration across South Korea. Dates and locations are agreed around the project scope and phase.

Q03What AI development work is available?

The FDE scope includes RAG, workflow automation, AI agents, API and data integrations, OCR and document processing, and ongoing operations and maintenance.

Q04How is the FDE approach different from a typical handoff?

It does not stop at implementing a supplied specification. We define the working problem and data conditions together, then connect build, validation, and operations.

Q05How are quotes and deliverables decided?

After reviewing scope, data, integrations, security, and operations, the proposal and agreement confirm schedule, fees, exclusions, acceptance criteria, deliverables, and maintenance.

Q06How long is inquiry data retained?

The initial inquiry row in the operational database is deleted through an internal procedure when its handling purpose ends; any row still present is automatically deleted 90 days after receipt. You may request earlier deletion. Disaster-recovery copies such as backups, snapshots, or WAL are not included in immediate deletion, and separate rules for those copies are not yet settled. See the Inquiry Data Policy for the full scope.
